Feeling like you’re the only person who has to skip the office cupcakes and watch what you eat to maintain a healthy weight is…not great. But if that’s you, you’re not alone! Yesterday…. there was the most beautiful and Amazing smelling cake brought into the station. I controlled myself and didn’t partake, however I did smell it! It smelled like it would TASTE delicious. Lately when I really want to try something, BUT I am not hungry…… I smell it and that seems to help a little.
It seems I haven’t had much to say over the past two weeks and for that I apologize. When I started this, I promised to be brutally honest at all times about the good, the bad and the ugly. Well the last two weeks have been the ugly, from losing my grandmother to another family tragedy. The only thing I have felt in control of is my eating and exercising and for that I am truly thankful. I haven’t done any fantastic new recipes this week, but I promise that will be part of next weeks routine. However, here is a list of the ,dinners I have made this week (typically I stick to oatmeal, scrambled eggs or a banana for breakfast and leftovers for lunch):
Saturday: Turkey Taco Bake (It was so good I had to have my parents over to try it)
Sunday: Homemade vegetable beef soup
Monday: Turkey Sausage with Saurkraut and Sweet Peas (Turkey kelbasa)
Tuesday: Hawaiian Chicken wraps with pretzel nuggets (Hawaiian marinade schnucks brand)
Wednesday: Shrimp, Brown Rice and Steamed Broccoli (I buy the fully cooked frozen kind and bake for about 25 minutes with olive oil, garlic powder and Mrs. Dash season all)
Thursday: BBQ Ribs, Sweet Potatoes and Asparagus ( I will do these in crockpot with BBQ rub and Dr. Pepper for 8 hours)
Friday: This may be an ‘On Your Own’ night in our house, which means Jr and the kids can get pizza and I will just have a wrap or sandwich
I have been asked a lot lately about my workouts, so here is the schedule I try and maintain. It’s not always this exactly…. well it hasn’t been for two weeks with Bob’s North closed I have had to make alternative plans. If you know me at all, this has been a challenge, as I am a creature of habit.
The schedule I prefer is:
Mondays ~ 4:30 am with Tony (we do three sets of two different machines or exercises followed by 1 minute of cardio in between, then I like to get in extra cardio so I do 45 minutes on the treadmill (trying to walk/run 3 miles)
Tuesdays ~ 4:30 am I try and get in at least 20 minutes on treadmill before Catherine’s FIT class at 5 am
Wednesdays ~ 4:45 am This is my straight cardio day (I try and get in 4 miles on treadmill)
Thursdays ~ 4:30 am I try and get in at least 20 minutes on treadmill before Catherine’s FIT class at 5 am

Saturdays/Sundays ~ If I go….. I try and do light on the treadmill and maybe some elliptical or stair climber
